NPTEL Awareness E-Workshop organized by XISS

The online NPTEL Awareness E-Workshop was organized by Xavier Institute
of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, in association with Kumaraguru College
of Technology, Coimbatore on 11 January 2022.

Dr Amar E. Tigga, Dean Academics, XISS, Ranchi, in his welcome address
spoke about the importance of online learning and knowledge enhancement
opportunities for the students and faculty members through the NPTEL
platform.

Dr D. Saravanan, Principal of Kumaraguru College of Technology, spoke
about students taking the NPTEL Course as a source of their motivation
and also mentioned how the NPTEL course has been helpful for the faculty
members.

Then, guest speaker Dr Shib Shankar Das, IIT Kharagpur, spoke about the
Vision, Mission, and Objectives of NPTEL and how it is creating
awareness to every student in the form of online learning. Towards the
end of the session, a question-and-answer round was organized post which
Dr Madhumita Singha, Associate Professor, XISS, Ranchi, concluded the
workshop with the vote of thanks.

The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) was
initiated by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi,
Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati, and Roorkee) along with the Indian
Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2003 which provides online
certification on various subjects.
