Alumni Meet & 'Sampark 2022' of Marketing Management Programme held at XISS

Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi hosted an Alumni Meet “SAMPARK 2022” on November 19 Saturday, in the XISS Campus. The meet organised by the Marketing Management Programme and Markbuzzz, The Marketing Club of XISS, Ranchi allowed more than 30 alumni to cherish nostalgic memories and their life journey with everyone.

The alumni meet commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a welcome note from Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, Director, XISS, where he expressed a warm welcome to alumni and laid emphasis on how alumni have contributed towards the corporate interface, alumni relations and value-based learning for the students. While concluding, he expressed his gratitude towards the alumni for expressing their interest in helping students excel in their field.

Dr Pradeep Kerketta SJ, Assistant Director, XISS spoke about the importance of alumni relations and real-world experiences for the students to stay updated with the changes in the world. He also emphasised the ways of strengthening ties with alumni and sharing practical knowledge and resources to achieve a better quality of life.

Further, Dr Amar E. Tigga, Dean Academics, XISS, welcomed everyone and said that giving back to the alma mater and society is important for the alumni. The changes that you see in the institute and the changes that are coming along, have had a lot of influence from our esteemed alumni.

Dr Bhabani Prasad Mahapatra, Head, Marketing Management Programme, warmly welcomed the alumni. He praised the alumni for not only contributing to the students of XISS but also towards the betterment of society in every possible way.

During the event, Mr Shivam Yadav, Director of AHR, Private Wealth from UAE and student of Marketing Management, Batch 2011-13 announced sponsoring a gold medal to the top scorer student in every marketing subject during the convocation ceremony. 

The event proceeded with panel discussions, where the first discussion was on the topic “Challenges and opportunities in career for sales and marketing – trends to consider”. The second-panel discussion was moderated by Dr Pinaki Ghosh on the topic “Bridging the
divide between academia and industry – a stakeholder perspective”.

The event also had a session of interaction with the alumni where they talked about their lives and shared their success mantras with the students. The day concluded with a plethora of cultural programmes including a beautiful dance performance by students on songs and then came the mellifluous songs by the MAXISS Band.
