Development Resource Centre (DRC) draws its existence from the vision of 'Just humane and equitable' society where the underprivileged (poor & oppressed) assume their rightful place." The third component of the mission of XISS states “Capacity building of the NGOs for promoting sustainable development”.
DRC further visualizes itself as an effective resource centre facilitating the process of result oriented initiative where the underprivileged/ marginalized people have their rights and lead dignified life in the society.’ It has successfully been able to create a niche for itself - an identity which has been built out of years of relation and linkages with other NGO's, partner organization since its inception in the year 1989. The foundation of such strong nature has evolved through close training associations and extensive field based support to organizations.
DRC has gone a long way in promoting the capacities of the organizations on critical issues in their respective work areas and is still engaged in strengthening and supporting small NGOs of Jharkhand. It is functioning as a resource centre for Rural Development rendering expert services to organizations and institutions engaged in development work to enables NGOs, Corporate and CBOs to become accountable towards the developmental initiatives by building their capacity.

This programme was a collaborative effort between the Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) and International Council on Management of Population Programs (ICOMP), Malaysia Supported by The David and Lucile Packard Foundation.
Under in-country fund mobilization in Leadership Development and Organization Effectiveness program, XISS has been able to mobilize fund from Sir Jamsetji Tata Trust with NBJK and IDF as implementing partners from Jharkhand and Bihar respectively.
This programme has been supported by Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria under Counseling as Sub component – Round 7. Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) being the primary recipient and 6 institutions being the secondary recipient and 40 institutions all over India being the sub-sub recipient. XISS is a sub- sub recipient.
