Silver Jubilee Reunion of PGDM-Rural Development, batch of 1996-98 held

Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, commemorated the Silver Jubilee Reunion of its PGDM-Rural Development, class of 1996-1998 to enjoy campus life and revive their beautiful memories in the campus on 24 November 2023.

21 alumni from the batch attended the event at their alma mater to network themselves and reconnect with each other, especially with the graduates and to encourage mutual support and interaction between the institution and its graduates. The alumni of this batch are well placed in several developmental, corporate, academic, and social service organisations across the nation and abroad.

The eventful day began with Head of Rural Management Programme, Dr Anant Kumar welcoming the alumni where he expressed his thankfulness to each one of you for their everlasting support towards helping the programme in areas of Course Curriculum, Industrial Visits, Industry Exposure, Placements, and mentorship towards students. He said that their experiences and journey help students understand the perspective as a Rural Management Professional.

Dr Kumar also read out the message of Director XISS, Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, where he conveyed his heartful welcome and gratitude towards the alumnus for displaying loyalty towards their alma mater.

Meanwhile. Assistant Director, Dr Pradeep Kerketta SJ, in his address said that our alumni have taken the banner of XISS high by showcasing the learnings of the institution which are love, service, and equality in the organization they are working with. It is a matter of great pride to have them here in the campus.

Furthermore, Dean, Academics, Dr Amar E. Tigga, welcomed the alumni and stated that XISS believes that these 25 years have brought a positive change in the vision and goal, and that the Institute looks forward to constant support of our alumni for making XISS stand out in the market.

The celebrations began with watering the plant followed by the sharing of the life experiences of the alumni, which was followed by the felicitation of the silver jubilee batch. A series of cultural events including a tribal dance on the theme ‘Feel of Jharkhand’ along with a skit ‘Life at XISS’, a group dance on ‘Feel the beats of the 1990s’ and a group song ‘Flow with the music of the 90s’ was performed by the students.

The event was attended by all the Heads of other programmes of the institute, faculty members, and students of Rural Management Programme. The session ended with a warm vote of thanks by Dr Niranjan Sahoo.
