Overwhelming Alumni Reunion of Rural Development Batch of 1982-84

Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) witnessed a heartwarming reunion as 28 alumni of Rural Development, Batch of 1982-84 came together to reminisce, celebrate achievements, and strengthen bonds. The alumni meet held at the Fr Michael Van den Bogaert SJ Memorial Auditorium was a testament to the enduring spirit of camaraderie among XISS graduates.

Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, Director, XISS, in his welcome address expressed happiness on the reunion and stated, XISS thrives on solidarity, shaping futures through shared vision and values of hope, resilience, and love. With a legacy of excellence, including recent NBA accreditation and a top 30 B-school ranking, we prioritize curriculum evolution and data analytics for working professionals. Our alumni are our strength and together, we are building a brighter tomorrow.

Father Christopher Lakra, Former Director, XISS expressed gratitude to the organizing team and reflected on the institution's growth, underscoring the importance of alumni relations. Further in the event, alumni shared heartfelt experiences, adding nostalgia and laughter to the event, while a group dance performance showcased their diverse talents. The program continued with more alumni sharing experiences and a special felicitation ceremony recognizing their contributions.

Discussions on XISS's impact and future direction enriched the event, with faculty emphasizing the institute's commitment to social service excellence. The event was also attended by Assistant Director, Dr Pradeep Kerketta SJ, Dean Academics, Dr Amar E Tigga, Head of Rural Management Programme, Dr Anant Kumar along with Heads of other programmes, Faculty, and students of First and Second Year of the Rural Management Programme. The event was successfully organized by the Alumni Office of XISS including Dr Sharda Singh, Ms Aayurshi Sahay, and Ms Koyel Mukherjee. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and the alumni later took a tour of the institute.
