“GAON NA AAO CORONA”, is a campaign which has begun with the motto to facilitate need assessment and act as a bridge between the District Administration and Mukhiyas of every panchayat coming under district jurisdiction to be working together during this pandemic effectively.
Students of Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) have joined this campaign under Ranchi district administration to facilitate the effectiveness and its efficiency. The team consists of students named Mr. Harsh Bisen, Ms. Neha Baraik, Ms. Jyoti Gupta, Mr. Shubham Gupta, Ms. Ankita Pradhan and Ms. Aditi Srivastava under the supervision of Ms. Prity Kumari, a volunteer associated with Team Green NGO.
The team began its work with need assessment of every panchayat of Ranchi district which counts to 305 with 18 blocks from April 6, 2020. Meanwhile, the team also got associated with the Mukhya-Mantri Didi Kitchen (MMDK) scheme introduced by Chief Minister Shri. Hemant Soren along with Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS), where they put their effort on collecting operation status of MMDK in the assigned blocks and requirements to enhance their operation and achievements.
The team also worked on listing the names of outsiders who arrived in the villages with the help Mukhiyas, Sahiya didi, Block Operator and Block Pramukhs. It took around 15 days for the team to complete 16 blocks out of 18 with updation of database of contact details of Mukhiyas parallel with spreadsheet documentation of every work.
DC Ranchi, Shri Rai Mahimapat Ray has appreciated the efforts of the XISS Student’s team associated with the campaign working with the district administration in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak.
The work allotted was divided in three sub-heads as follows:
- Mukhya-Mantri Didi Kitchen (MMDK) operation status and requirements.
- Collecting the requirements of every panchayat about their requirements to feed their population falling under Ranchi jurisdiction during this lockdown period.
- Preparation of outsiders list who came to the villages and the areas which comes under Ranchi District.
Students are thankful to the XISS Management for the guidance and the opportunity to work with the District Administration. Students also extended their gratitude towards their alumni Mr. Nipun Jain and Ms. Shreysee Banka for their continuous support enabling them to execute the work in an effective manner.
