On 26th July 2020, the Programme of Information Technology of Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi organised an International webinar on “ Python Programming Essentials and unexplored employment opportunities in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning”. The webinar witnessed guest speakers from both National and International forums.
The Webinar was an initiative to give away wide and clear exposure to all the keen learners attending the webinar, helping them identify the key traits required in the Era of Industry 4.0,by interacting with seasoned Industry Professionals from Tata Consultancy Services, Accenture, Oracle and VNurt Technologies along with highly experienced Professors from the Programme of Information Technology. The Programme Coordinator and Event Moderator of the webinar was Professor (Dr.) Rik Das along with the Gurpreet Kaur being the Rapporteur, Kumari Anjali as the MC of the webinar, Akash Khara, Amit Kumar, Anamika Ghosh, Pratik Surin and Kumar Akshay being the main coordinators of the webinar. The webinar was also attended by Professor SR Roy, Professor SN Singh, Professor (Dr.) Madhumita Singha Neogi, Professor Viplava Thakur, Professor Sarabjeet Singh and Mr. Himanshu Mohanta.
The webinar was also attended by Fr. (Dr.) Joseph Marianus Kujur S.J., Director XISS where he explained the main four pillars of Jesuit Education System called Utility, Justice, Humanity and Faith. Fr. Pradeep Kerketta S.J, Assistant Director XISS talked about the significance of technology in today’s changing world. Fr. Francis David Kullu S.J., Finance Officer and Information Technology Stalwart XISS gave considerable insights on the skills and expertise that are required in the field of Information Technology and Industry 4.0.
Professor (Dr.) Mahua Banerjee, Head of Programme (Information Technology), XISS laid great emphasis on Up skilling and the benefit of being a techo-managerial professional holding good knowledge in both the domains.
Professor (Dr.) Amar Eron Tigga, Professor of Programme of Marketing and Chief Placement Coordinator at XISS Talked about Change Management giving real time insights in the Recruitment and Placements scenarios that are evolving day by day and how AI and ML knowledge and adequate programming skills is the need of the hour in order to avail the various employment opportunities in Era of Industry 4.0.
The webinar was attended by Professors and students of the Programme of Information Technology along with students, research-scholars, industry experts from varied domains and professions.
The eminent speakers of the webinar were Mr. Ambarish Ganguly, ETRM and Data Analytics Practice Lead at TCS Kolkata.He discussed the practical aspects of Data Science giving emphasis on R and Python Learning. He also talked about Predictive Analysis and the application of Machine Learning that is used by market leaders like Amazon to survive in this cut-throat competitive market.
Mr. Prosenjit Banerjee Director- Enterprise Architecture at Oracle Singapore started his presentation by talking about Data Science . He also talked about three major top roles in the market naming it Data Architects, Data Engineers and Data Scientists calling them the market leaders in this changing market scenario, also putting in greater emphasis on the subject area of Data Science. He also talked about the role of Information Technology in the Healthcare, Telecom and Banking sectors with alignment in IOT, Machine Learning algorithms.
Mr. Indrajit Kar, Vertical Manager and Principal Solutions Architect at Accenture, Bangalore where he presented a time ride talking about some of the unexplored, unknown areas of AI and ML. How the integration of AI and ML in the business front can help business flourish, as the startup’s nowadays are also integrating AI and ML in their working.
“AI and ML are there in every sector of the economy” he added. He also gave up deep insights on Deep learning, Zero Shot Learning, Transfer Learnings, Remote Sensing and Explorable Artificial Intelligence giving practical exposures to all.
Mr. Hemant Sharma Director at VNURT Technology Bengaluru where he discussed on how to get placed in COVID-19 Situation, also giving up a five step formula to help one achieve a dream job talking about Evaluation, the ability to keep enhancing key skills bringing both practical and theoretical knowledge in use. Working on the Resume, highlighting key areas of work must be clearly mentioned.
“A lot of hiring is done through Linkedin Profile” he added. At last he mentioned about Networking, and the advantages of having a strong network can really be beneficial for looking out for appropriate jobs.
The webinar marked it’s end by the Vote of Thanks being delivered by Professor (Dr.) Rik Das, following which the room was open for the audience to have one to one interaction with the speakers. The webinar threw light on the hidden aspects, the unexplored employment opportunities that the domain of Information Technology hold as a professional and the ways by which one can stand out having a solid grip in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the Era of Industry 4.0.
