In the ongoing webinar series organized by Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, a Session -2 was held on the topic, “Being an Entrepreneur after the COVID-19 pandemic” on 4th September 2020.
“This webinar series is an effort to bring a team of professors of XISS to the fore for sharing their views on becoming an Entrepreneur, where Finance and Marketing are the two most important aspects which are the two essential keys for entrepreneurship” informed Dr. (Fr.) Ashok Ohol, S.J., XISS Ranchi also the moderator of the webinar.
Starting the session, Dr. Tina Murarka, Assistant Professor, XISS discussed the financial challenges of an Entrepreneur- Post-COVID -19 where she stated that Finance is the lifeblood of any organization and that Cash is the king of any business. She further discussed on the challenges for the survival of business during the pandemic, the situation of termination of full-time employees and expansion or diversification into different product lines to meet the market expectations.
For the post-COVID-19 situation of the market, she emphasized on the measurement of the performances of employees and businesses along with tracking of expenses incurred by the business to stay in the market for a longer duration.
Shedding light on the webinar topic, Dr. Amar E. Tigga, Professor and Chief Placement Coordinator discussed the agenda of Marketing for Entrepreneurs during and post COVID-19 times and said: “This pandemic has given us time to think differently and at XISS, we are aiming towards understanding the market and industry situation better.” He further discussed the entrepreneurial marketing which is highly based on contacting and reaching out to people on a personal level for sales and feedback alike.
“Building customers trust that they are safe with the product they are buying has to be the topmost priority any entrepreneur or business should focus on given the amount of panic and uncertainty during this pandemic. This is not just a learning phase but a revamping phase of the business modules set long ago,” emphasizes Dr. Amar. He also shared survival practices methods, streamlining of Entrepreneurial Marketing techniques and motivated the budding entrepreneurs participating in the audience to move ahead with their ideas and create new business opportunities.
The session saw a participation of Professors, budding entrepreneurs, businessmen & students and ended up with a question and answer session moderated by Dr. Ashok Ohol, XISS. The session ended on a warm vote of thanks to panelists thanking them for their time and valuable views.
