XISS and AAXISS organise COVID-19 Vaccination Camp in College Campus
Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) along with Alumni Association of XISS (AAXISS) and Jesuit Alumni Ranchi Province (JARP) organised a COVID-19 vaccination camp in support from Health Department, Government of Jharkhand in the college campus on Thursday.
261 beneficiaries were vaccinated including XISS Faculty members and staff, AAXISS family, extended Jesuit Society, residents nearby XISS campus, students of XISS and family of the above mentioned. People of both age groups of 18-45 years and 45+ years received first and second doses as required of the Covishield vaccine in the slot timings provided to them earlier.
The vaccination drive began with a solemn prayer by Dr. Joseph Marianus Kujur, SJ ,Director, XISS. He appreciated the turnout and said that this joint initiative is a landmark effort in the process of making Jharkhand corona free. He wished that the vaccination camp will inspire and motivate many citizens who are still apprehensive about the result of the vaccine.
The event was also graced by the kind presence of Dr. Pradeep Kerketta, SJ Assistant Director, XISS; Fr. David Kullu, SJ Finance Officer, XISS; Fr. Xavier Soreng, SJ Superior, XISS, faculty members and several senior alumni members.
Representatives of AAXISS including Mr. Alok Gupta (Secretary), Mr. Jasbir Singh Khurana (Vice-Chairman ), Mr. Himalay ( Joint Secretary ), Mr. Srijan(Executive Member), Mr. Aditya Raj (Executive Member), Mr. Harsh Vardhan (Executive member) played key roles in the conduction of the camp.
The Vaccination camp was supported by UNICEF and Karra Society for Rural Action (KSRA) with the informative materials they provided on Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour along with contributions of the XISS COVID-19 Task Force (XTF), Aawaz, Prakiti and Obscura clubs respectively.
