Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, celebrated the 74th Republic Day on the campus. The ceremony was graced by Dr Amar E Tigga, Dean Academics, XISS, Fr Claber Minz, Finance Officer, Head of all Programmes, Faculty, Staff, and students. The event began with the hoisting of the tricolor by the Dean Academics followed by singing the national anthem by students.

In his message during the gathering, Dr Tigga congratulated each one present for being part of our united nation and said that it was an auspicious occasion, and a day to remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters. Republic Day is incomplete if we do not respect the constitution, this country is ours and we cannot leave its responsibility to anyone else. He further stated that the future of our great nation and our institution is in our very own hands and when we talk about competing at the international level, we have to be prepared for everything and also focus on how to improve education.

The event was followed by patriotic songs, drama, cultural dance, poetry on patriotism all done by the students. The program was organized by the students of Financial Management Programme under the guidance of Dr Bhaskar Bhawani, Program Head and other faculty members. Tricolor balloons were released at the end of the function marking the celebration of the day.
