Alumni Award Categories
The purpose of the Alumni Awards is to provide recognition to the men and women of XISS who deliver outstanding contributions to their field of endeavor, to XISS, and to the citizens of our nation and the world.
Award Categories
• Young Achiever’s award
• Alumni Service/Titan award
• Spirit of XISS award
• Lifetime Achievement
• Emerging Entrepreneur of the year
• Women in Leadership Award
1. Young Achiever award
The Young Achiever Award will acknowledge not only the young alumnus/alumna's excellent achievements in their profession and life so far, but also seeks to recognize outstanding talent, achievement, and/or the contribution made by the alumnus in the field o Human Resource Management that demonstrates integrity, initiative and innovation.
The general criteria for this award are
• This award is open to alumni who have received a diploma in Personnel Management from the Institute within the last 10 years.
• The award seeks to honor that young alumnus/alumna who demonstrates outstanding professional achievements and/or community involvement likely to be an inspiration to the next generation of graduates and the community at large.
2. Alumni Titan Award
This award honors alumni, who through outstanding service to XISS, advance the institution’s mission and work. The honorees are enthusiastic and energetic XISS champions who dedicate significant time, talent and/or treasure to endeavors that help the Institute fulfill its role in developing talent and leadership for our state, nation and world. This award recognizes volunteer service to the Institute, faithful and continued effort assistance in expanding the influence and prestige of XISS. The dimensions like longevity and consistency of service and the impact of volunteer service on the Institute will be considered.
The general criteria for the award are:
• volunteer service and its impact to the institute
• the time, talent and/or treasure to endeavors that help the Institute and the longevity and consistency of service
• faithful and continued effort assistance in expanding the influence and prestige of XISS
3. Spirit of XISS award
This award honors alumni who personify XISS’s philosophy statement “Leaven in the dough” and recognizes those who have worked selflessly for the upliftment of the underprivileged in the true spirit of this institution’s belief in “putting the last first”. This award is bestowed upon the alumnus who through leadership, inspiration, teamwork, or hard work in the spirit of volunteerism or in professional activities, has taken the lessons of the Institute’s character nurturing beyond the classroom and whose actions are characterized by a history of exemplary service resulting in unquestionable improvements within the community.
The general criteria for the award are:
• The nominee must be engaged in work aimed at the development of the general society/industry.
• The impact of service done in the society/industry.
• Any previous award or recognition received for the same will also be considered
4. Lifetime Achievement Award
This award has been established to provide recognition to those alumni who have shown extraordinary leadership throughout their professional careers and who have distinguished themselves by achieving a consistently high level of excellence in their endeavors in the field of Human Resource management. These contributions, whether they have been in research, leadership, or mentorship, must have had a lasting impact on the field and must have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to progress of Human Resource management.
The general criteria for the award are:
• Nominees must have an outstanding record of accomplishment in executive management or as entrepreneurs. The significance of their achievements should be reflected in their community reputation and the recognition they have received from their peers.
• A person considered for the award must have completed 35 years of service in the corporate, academics or any other types of organizations of repute after post graduation from XISS.
• The contribution of the person must be well acknowledged by the organization and the segment that the person has worked for so far.
• The person must have occupied a position of influence like the CEO, Director, Professor etc.
• The person must be an active alumnus who champions the cause of the institute on all possible occasions.
5. Emerging Entrepreneur of the year Award
This award is conferred upon an alumnus/alumna who, through the use of his or her education at the Institute and personal initiative and innovation created a new business or venture that reflects credit on the Institute. The award seeks to recognize outstanding leadership and excellence in entrepreneurial venture, extraordinary individuals that possess true enterprising spirit. The award will promote the value and importance of entrepreneurship and highlight its significance in a competitive global market. This award is aimed at alumni running recently founded businesses which are both innovative and successful.
The general criteria for the award are:
• The business has to be founded or co-founded by an alumnus/alumna
• The business must have been operational for a minimum period of period of three years
• The business has to be related to Human Resources
6. Women in Leadership Award
This award is conferred upon an alumna who, through the use of her education at the Institute and personal initiative and innovation created a new business or venture that reflects credit on the Institute. This Award will acknowledge not only the alumna's excellent achievements in their profession and life so far, but also seeks to recognize outstanding talent, achievement, and/or the contribution made by the alumna in the chosen field that demonstrates integrity, initiative and innovation.
The general criteria for this award are
• Nominees must have an outstanding record of accomplishment in executive management or as entrepreneurs.
• The significance of their achievements should be reflected in their community reputation and the recognition they have received from their peers.
• The contribution of the person must be well acknowledged by the organization and the segment that the person has worked for so far.
• The person must have occupied a position of influence like the VP, Head HR etc.
Alumni Awards - Eligibility
1. The nominees should be alumni. An alumnus is any person who was enrolled in XISS’s PGDPM program.
2. If selected as an award recipient, the nominee should be able to attend the Awards Ceremony to Nostalgia 2011 to accept the award..
3. The achievements of the nominee fulfill the criteria defined for the awards.
4. Awards will not be held for a category where no nominations come in.
5. The institute will receive nominations from the classmates, juniors or seniors of an alumni with sufficient and convinving proof of the credentials of the nominee.
